What do you think of this?
The science class at Self Regulation High School truly epitomized this lesson for me.
At the beginning of each new unit, the teacher handed out a list of assignments for that unit.
The expectations for each assignment were clearly outlined and provided to the students well in advance of their due dates.
The same sheet of paper was also used to keep track of grades on quizzes throughout the unit and the teacher made it very clear to the students that if they lost that piece of paper, they would not receive credit for the grades recorded on the paper.
Not only did this set clear expectations for the students, but it taught them a sense of responsibility and accountability.
